KiLEY is releasing a new bar end mirror!
●KiLEY Bar End Mirror NEXUS EYE (LM-021)

While KiLEY has primarily focused on lighting, our products are widely used on a variety of bikes with an elegant aesthetic, including classic chromoly frames and mini-velos.
Even on such bikes, many users have been observed installing mirrors for practical reasons.
However, most commercially available bicycle mirrors are made of resin and are quite large.
Many of these did not aesthetically complement the carefully chosen bikes or other KiLEY items.

I, as a staff member, have tried several mirrors.
While larger mirror diameters are certainly convenient, they always felt out of place on my current bike. I just couldn't find a mirror I truly wanted to install.
So, I consulted with KiLEY's representative.
I asked if it would be possible to create a mirror made from machined aluminum that would match KiLEY's lights and silver parts.
Development began about two years ago.

※Production process
Given the significant structural changes from the initial design, it's finally being released.
The most important aspect of development was "a quality that makes you want to install it on your bike."

If a mirror is too large, it improves rear visibility but also makes the mirror too prominent.
On the other hand, if aesthetics are prioritized at the expense of visibility, the mirror fails its purpose.

The optimal balance between design and practicality is a 35mm diameter.
While this might seem compact, the mirror surface uses an optical convex mirror, ensuring a wide rear view equivalent to approximately 225°.

When you actually use it, you'll surely realize it provides a wider field of view than its appearance suggests.
Another point I noticed while using mirrors from other companies was that the range of angle adjustment was unexpectedly limited.
Many bar end mirrors are structurally limited to only flat bars or only drop handlebars, and the visibility of the mirror changes depending on the riding position.
In contrast, KiLEY's Nexus Eye uses a ball joint system for mirror attachment.
This allows the mirror head to move over a range of more than 270°, enabling fine angle adjustment to suit the bike, handlebar shape, and riding posture.
The three bolts on the back of the mirror allow you to adjust the locking force of the ball joint.

KiLEY items are widely used on folding bikes and bikes used for "rinko" (bike travel by train or other public transport).
Therefore, we intentionally made the mirror quick-release.
If it interferes during folding or transport, you can remove just the mirror part without tools.
By the way, for BROMPTONs, if you attach it to the right side to accommodate left-hand traffic in Japan, the right handlebar faces upward when folded, making interference relatively unlikely.

In the future, we plan to sell only the mirror part as a replacement component.
It comes in two colors: silver and black.

The NEXUS EYE is scheduled to arrive in early August. Sales will commence sequentially upon arrival.

When combined with KiLEY lights and reflectors, the consistent metallic texture and color create a sleek and cohesive look for the entire bike.
This item is highly recommended for those who value not only practicality but also the overall aesthetic of their bicycle, including the mirror.
